A private security guard accused of shooting businessman Arnold Ainebyona Mugisha at Quality Supermarket, Naalya has appeared in court.
Moses Angoria attached to Saracen security firm on Thursday appeared before Kira Magistrate’s Court in Wakiso District but was too weak to stand trial, according to sources.
Angoria who had been hospitalized at Mulago National Referral Hospital was reportedly carried by aides into the courtroom presided over Grade One Magistrate Joan Aciro.
However, he had started vomiting, passing urine and stools before the magistrate ordered police to take him back for treatment.
The Magistrate said she could not remand such a suspect to Luzira Prison.
Mugisha was allegedly shot dead by Angoria after a disagreement stemming from the deceased’s colleagues abandoning a trolley that rolled and damaged another client’s car.
Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesman Patrick Onyango earlier said Angoria’s health had improved, but they couldn’t record his statement until the doctors have declared him to be of sound mind, an important element if a capital case is to be sustained in court.
SP Onyango further said Mr Babu Awaze, a colleague of the suspect, who was knocked by a car, recorded his statement and released, but they intend to use him as an eyewitness in the murder case.
