Breaking: Former inspector general of Uganda police dead

The Former Inspector General of Uganda Police Force  John Kisembo has today evening been reported to have died.

Family sources say the IGP Emeritus passed on at Platinum Hospital in Kampala on Thursday.

Police is yet to issue an official statement on the matter, however Police Chief Political Commissar AIGP Asan Kasingye who served under him confirmed the death on twitter. “I am sad and blue about my former boss and friend. Rest thee well IGP (Emeritus), John Kisembo,” he tweeted on Thursday evening.

Kisembo, hailing from Mugalike in Kagadi district served as Inspector General of Police from 1998 to 2001 having taken over from John Cossy Odomel.

Kisembo was replaced by now Works and Transport State Minister and also former Chief of Defence Forces Gen Katumba Wamala.
