The Uganda Cranes coach Sebastien Desabre has finally named the long-awaited 23 man squad set to travel to Egypt to represent Uganda at the 32nd edition of the Africa Cup of Nations.
Notable among the squad is midfielder Abdul Lumala who plies his trade in Sweden.
KCCA’s Sadam Juma and Carlstad United’s Alexis David Bbakka are some of the big names that were left out with reports indicating that they were both not feeling well.
These two join Viper’s artistic midfielder Moses Waiswa who was ruled of the tournament after he sustained a knee injury in one of the trainings in Abu Dhabi.
Uganda will play the final build up against Cote D’Ivoire this coming Saturday, 15th June 2019 before flying to Egypt for the biennial continental showpiece.
With 52 games set to be played, Uganda was drawn in group A with hosts Egypt, Democratic Republic of Congo and Zimbabwe which many have since termed as a group of death.
