Gen. Wilson Mbadi appointed new Chief of Defence Forces ( CDF )

President Museveni has promoted Wilson Mbasu Mbadi to the rank of General and appointed him as the new Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), replacing Gen David Muhoozi who was recently appointed as the Minister of State for Internal Affairs.

Highly placed sources in the army have it that the new changes made by President Museveni who is the commander in chief, Lt. Gen Peter Elwelu has been appointed the deputy CDF while Lt Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba is now the Commander Land Forces.

Maj. Gen. Leopold Eric Kyanda is the Joint Chief of Staff .
