Dokolo Woman MP, Cecilia Atim Ogwal collapsed in parliament yesterday afternoon, URN has learnt.The veteran legislator reportedly started feeling nauseated at around 2:00 pm before she collapsed. The parliamentary medical team picked her up from the pigeonhole area and took her to the waiting room where they administered first aid, according to eyewitnesses.
She was later rushed to her home for a rest. Ogwal confirmed on the phone that she felt nauseated at parliament but was now out of danger and feeling better.
Although there is always no plenary sittings on Mondays, MPs attend committee and commission meetings while other attend to business in their offices.
The corporate and public affairs department of parliament couldn’t be reached to comment on the matter by the time of filing this story.

Ogwal is one of the longest serving legislators in the Ugandan parliament, having joined the House in 1994 to represent Lira Municipality during the constitution-making process.
