Mugisha Muntu Responds to Namboze’s Letter:”I did not Steal Any FDC Members”

Former Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) President Gen. Gregory Mugisha Muntu has dismissed accusations of his active involvement in breaking apart of FDC.

Gen Muntu yesterday, denied “poaching” members of the FDC leadership, or influencing their decision to leave.

Muntu has been criticized by fellow opposition leaders and supporters for pushing his own agenda at the expense of the party that shaped his career.

This critique gained traction last week when a total of 63 FDC leaders in the Ankole sub region resigned their leadership positions and quit the party to join the New Formation.

Former Leader of Opposition and FDC Spokesperson Wafula Oguttu termed Muntu’s decision to leave the opposition party along with other party members as “disappointing.”

“I have known and worked closely with Gen Muntu for many years.  He is a comrade, a serious nationalist and a patriot,” Oguttu said.

Responding to this Hon Betty Namboze’s Letter and current criticism on his  Twitter channel , Muntu implied that his decision was in line with the ultimate goal of causing regime change.

Muntu quoted, “With Malice toward none, with charity for all, with firmness in the right, as God gives us to see the right, let us strive on to finish the work we are in, to bind up the nation’s wounds.”
