Museveni appoints Manifesto team

President Yoweri Museveni and also the chairperson of the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) has pursuant to Art 14(1) of NRM constitution named a 14-member committee tasked with coming up with the party manifesto for the period of 2021-2026

The committee will be chaired by minister of justice and constitutional affairs Prof Ephraim Kamuntu and who will be deputised by the party’s Deputy Secretary General Mr Richard Tadwong.

The manifesto shall be science driven and based on science, technology and innovation. The manifesto is expected to address the Export promotion and import substitution strategy in the real economy that deals with the basic human needs which include food, clothing, medicine, security, infrastructure, education and spiritual work.

The committee may co-opt other persons (not exceeding seven in number), whose technical knowledge and expertise they deem critical for the discharge of their mandate.

The Committee shall be serviced by the NRM secretariat which will also oversee the day to day activities of the committee.
