New Vision’s Charles Etukuri Hospitalized After Succumbing to Deadly Cuts From Attack

New Vision journalist Charles Etukuri is currently admitted at IHK hospital in Kampala after an attack by unknown people.

The crime reporter was attacked by thugs on Saturday night at his home in Bweyogerere Wakiso district.

He was cut by a sharp object on his face, jaw and near the eye.

Vision Group has not spoken on the matter but only retweeted ICT minister Frank K Tumwebaze’s message:

‏”My prayers & sympathies to my friend @EtukuriCharles a senior reporter at @newvisionwire.”

He added: “I wish you quick recovery brother & hopefully the @PoliceUg can track & bring to book those criminals.”

In March 2018, Etukuri was kidnapped and held incommunicado for a week by operatives of the Internal Security Organisation (ISO) at the Vision Group’s office on First Street, Industrial Area.

The arrest came a day after Etukuri had written a story about the death of foreign nationals in Kampala, in which the Uganda Police Force was laying blame on ISO’s doorsteps.
