Barcelona have defeated PSV Eindhoven 4-0 at the Camp Nou in the first match of the Champions League 2018/19 group stage. Lionel Messi bagged a hat-trick by casually converting a free-kick in the first half and then confidently putting the ball into the back of the net after Rakitic and Suarez’s assists.
Barca top the group after the first games having three points and the best goal difference.
Messi has now scored EIGHT hat-tricks in the Champions League, an incredible feat, given that he has only one rival in this field – Cristiano Ronaldo who is second with seven.
