Top Generals Tumwine and Angina Clash Over Kirumira Land Saga

Security minister General Elly Tumwine has roasted former Deputy Chief of Defence Forces, Lt. Gen. Charles Angina for taking sides in a land dispute which involves business man Godfrey Kirumira.

Last month, Kirumira alleged that Gen. Angina was behind a group of soldiers who beat up him up following a land dispute with another fellow.

In a recent video circulating , Gen. Tumwine is seen roasting Gen. Angina, accusing him of using his interest in the land to tarnish the image of the Uganda Peoples Defence Forces (UPDF) which Tumwine said that they fought for.

Tumwine said that they also have wrangles with a lot of people but they don’t use the force to beat and mistreat people.

“Don’t abuse our forces. We all have wrangles but we don’t use the force like this. We have worked to build the image of our force,” Tumwine said in part.

Tumwine told a visibly “frightened” Angina that if there is a dispute on the land, that is an issue that should be left for Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) to enforce the law and not the army.

Gen. Angina is also the current deputy coordinator of the Operation Wealth Creation (OWC).
