The January transfer is in full swing as we enter the final two weeks of the window.

Cesc Fabregas completed his move to Monaco on Friday with Nicolo Barella and Leandro Paredes both lined up as replacements.

Gonzalo Higuain could also arrive but Maurizio Sarri has snapped at Bayern Munich over their pursuit of Callum Hudson-Odoi.

Arsenal remain in the hunt for loan additions with Denis Suarez on their radar while Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp doesn’t expect too much coming in despite Liverpool’s growing injury list.

Solskjaer told what he needs to do

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer may have to win a trophy and lead Manchester United to the top four this season.

The Norwegian has impressed in interim charge at Old Trafford, winning all five matches to date.

United face their toughest test since sacking Jose Mourinho on Sunday though when they travel to Wembley to face Tottenham .

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino remains the frontrunner for the United post but Solskjaer could force himself into the reckoning if the revival continues.

He is expected to return to Molde at the end of the Premier League season but is likely to be open to staying on at Old Trafford.

West Ham eye Shelvey

West Ham United are considering testing Newcastle United’s resolve with a bid for Jonjo Shelvey.

The Toon Army, though, will not let him go without a fight.

The Mail Online say the Hammers are looking to make a move for the midfielder.

Shelvey has only made 12 appearances for the club this season and is a huge doubt for Saturday’s game with Chelsea .

Manager Rafa Benitez has previously played down a move with Fulham also linked.

Barca ‘pondering Morata swoop’

Barcelona are reportedly pondering a loan swoop for Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata.

The out-of-favour Blues forward has just five goals in 16 Premier League games this term.

Barca are undecided over whether to sign a striker in the winter window but Morata is among the names they are considering should they decide to bolster their frontline, according to Sport.

The Catalan giants have apparently already enquired about Morata’s situation but are yet to make a formal offer to the Blues.

Barcelona have allowed Munir El Haddadi to leave for Sevilla, which could open the door for them to swoop for Morata.

Chelsea line up Fabregas replacement

Cesc Fabregas last night completed his move to Monaco – and it’ll lead to a transfer merry-go-round.

Chelsea have deals for Zenit’s £30m Leandro Paredes and Cagliari’s £40m Nicolo Barella lined up to replace Fabregas and are deciding which to press ahead with.

But Italian sources claim Barella is reluctant to leave Cagliari mid-season, putting Argentinian Paredes in pole position.

While Chelsea were only prepared to hand Fabregas a one-year extension after four-and-a-half years at Stamford Bridge, in keeping with their policy for players over-30, he has joined Monaco until 2022, linking up with his former teammate Thierry Henry in France in a deal worth up to £10m.

Chelsea have also been offered hope in their pursuit of boss Maurizio Sarri’s first choice striker target Gonzalo Higuain, who is currently on loan at AC Milan from Juventus .

Milan boss Gennaro Gattuso refused to rule out Higuain’s exit, saying: “I hope Higuain remains as long as possible, but if that doesn’t happen, then we’ll see.”

Neymar’s dad breaks silence on rumoured Barcelona return

Neymar’s dad has broken his silence about his son’s rumoured move back to Barcelona.

The Brazilian megastar left the Nou Camp to join Paris-Saint Germain in a controversial world-record €220m deal in 2017.

But a few months later rumours started to emerge saying the frontman was unhappy in Paris and wanted a move back to La Liga.

However due to how he left the Catalan giants – with his father Neymar Sr ruthlessly pushing through a move – it seemed unlikely he would come back so easily.

Especially as his €220m release clause doesn’t kick in until the end of next season.

But Neymar is now reportedly pleading with Barcelona to sanction his return to the Spanish champions.

Robben urges Hudson-Odoi to join Bayern

Arjen Robben has urged Callum Hudson-Odoi to move to Bayern Munich.

Robben insists that it is always the hardest thing for any young player to get regular games with Bayern desperate to sign the Chelsea teenager.

Bayern have made a £35m bid for 18-year-old Hudson-Odoi who is regarded as one of English football’s best young prospects.

Jadon Sancho broke into the England squad after moving to Borussia Dortmund and now Hudson-Odoi wants to do the same with Bayern and has turned down a new contract after getting frustrated at a lack of games with Chelsea.

Bayern winger Robben, 34, a former Chelsea star, told beIN Sports: “He is one of the best (young players) in Europe. You are better off getting your chance and if you get that chance then you have to take it.

“For young players, it’s always the same. First, you have to take the big step to achieve it. Become a professional football player at the highest level, get into the first team, get your place.

“Then, second, which can be more important, what’s sometimes missing is that you have to stay there. Staying there is often more difficult than actually becoming a footballer in the first place.

“You have to to prove it, game after game, season after season and don’t be happy.

“Don’t just be happy when you achieve something little or small.”

Monaco ‘in advanced talks’ over Batshuayi move

Monaco are reportedly in advanced talks over a potential loan move for Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi.

The Belgian struggled on loan at Valencia during the first half of the season finding the net just once in 15 La Liga appearances.

And Monaco have now emerged as frontrunners for his services for the remainder of the campaign, according to Goal.

Arsenal “open” to Brahimi move

Arsenal are weighing up moves for Porto star Yacine Brahimi.

Versatile Algerian Brahimi is a free agent in the summer when his deal with the Portuguese giants runs out.

And the Gunners, Manchester United and Everton are understood to be among the clubs to have held initial talks with the 28 year-old’s representatives.

Meanwhile, Brahimi’s free agent status will increase his appeal to Arsenal and boss Unai Emery who could see his close-season transfer budget reduced if Arsenal miss out on a top-four finish.

Everton are keeping tabs on Paris-born Brahimi, who is capable of playing as an attacking midfielder and on both flanks, too.

Inter Milan are also in the hunt for Brahimi and are understood to have already offered him a deal as he is now free to sign a pre-contract agreement with a foreign club.

Now he needs to improve in some movements without the ball but he is working very well at the moment so I am very happy with the player and would like to have him in the future.

Why Lewandowski never moved to England

At various points in recent years, when Premier League clubs have been on the hunt for a new striker, the name of Robert Lewandowski has often been at the top of various shortlists.

Chelsea, when eyeing a replacement for Diego Costa, were keen on the Polish hitman.

Manchester United too, at various points during Lewandowski’s time scoring goals galore for Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich, have also kept tabs on his situation and made overtures.

Yet Lewandowski, now 30, has always steered clear from moving to England since making his name in Germany.

In truth, the man with 276 goals in 405 games for BVB and Bayern has never really showing any inclination to head to the Premier League ever since the volcanic ash cloud of 2010 stopped Blackburn’s hopes of landing the then largely unknown Lech Poznan striker in their tracks.

And the fact of the matter, according to the player’s long-time, now former, agent, Cesary Kucharski, is that Lewandowski has only ever been interested in making one move.

“He had many offers,” says Kucharski, speaking in Polish daily Pilka Nozna. “The thing is, his wife did not want to go to France (to PSG) – and both did not want to go to England.

“For Robert, only the Spanish sun counted, and only Real Madrid.”

Chelsea face Barella blow

Chelsea’s bid to land Cagliari midfielder Nicolo Barella could be put on hold until the summer – because the Italian international is set to become a father for the second time.

Blues’ boss Maurizio Sarri has pinpointed the 21-year-old as the man to replace Monaco-bound Cesc Fabregas and has been urging the Stamford Bridge club to meet the £45million asking price.

But the fee Cagliari are demanding isn’t the only stumbling block.

Barella’s wife is almost six months pregnant and sources in Italy claim she has told her husband that she does not want to leave Italy until the child is born.

That could open the door for a Premier League bidding war at the end of the season.

Allegri on Ramsey

Juventus boss Max Allegri has suggested the Italian champions do not need Aaron Ramsey.

The Arsenal midfielder has been in talks over a move to Turin with his contract expiring at the end of the season.

Reports this week suggested he will undergo a medical on Sunday before agreeing a deal to take him to Juventus on a free this summer.

Talks are not believed to be as down the line as claimed with Barcelona thought to also be in the mix.

And speaking ahead of his side’s Coppa Italia clash with Bologna, Allegri appeared to raise doubts over a move for Ramsey.

I can already rely on five top midfielders. They are so good that I need nobody.

Tomorrow we must maintain our focus or we’d have lost a target.

Balerdi is set to ink a deal with Dortmund next week, until 2023.

Wagner doesn’t fear sack

Huddersfield boss David Wagner doesn’t fear the sack.

The Terriers have been on a club-record nine-game winless run and now face relegation rivals Cardiff.

It’s not about fear, it’s about that I’m not happy, which is how I should be after all these results.

It’s about how I feel responsibility. I like to put smiles on people’s faces like we have done over the last three years and a couple of months.

I’m not able to deliver this and this is nothing that satisfies me and this is what I meant when I said I know and I feel the responsibility for it.

Klopp’s warning to Coutinho

Jurgen Klopp warned Philippe Coutinho of the dangers of joining Barcelona .

The Brazilian has had a tough start to life at the Nou Camp having arrived from Liverpool a year ago.

He has failed to nail down a regular starting spot under Ernesto Valverde with his future already in doubt.

“Stay here and they will end up building a statue in your honour,” he said in May 2017.

“Go somewhere else, to Barcelona, to Bayern Munich, to Real Madrid , and you will be just another player. Here you can be something more.”

Collins set for Ipswich

Former West Ham defender James Collins is set to join Ipswich.

Collins had been training with Aston Villa and had hoped to earn a deal.

But that was ripped up after picking up an injury and Collins is now heading for Portman Road on a short-term contract.

Why Arsenal want to sign Suarez

So this is why Unai Emery wants to play Denis Suarez on the wing.

The Barcelona midfielder is widely expected to complete a move to Arsenal in the January transfer window, initially joining on a loan deal ahead of a likely permanent switch in the summer.

The versatile Suarez can play anywhere across the midfield, but when he played under Emery in 2014/15 he did so on both the right and left flanks.

Emery even hinted that the 25-year-old could be the player on his mind when he broached the subject of transfers after the victory over Blackpool in the FA Cup.

And Suarez did some damage from the right hand side in Barcelona’s Copa Del Rey game at Levante on Thursday night.

With Barca 2-0 down in their last-16, first leg tie, they needed an away goal to get them back into contention.

Latest on Gueye’s future

Neymar is reportedly pleading with Barcelona to sanction his return to the Spanish champions.

The Brazilian left the Nou Camp two years ago in a world-record £200million move to Paris Saint-Germain.

But he has failed to settle in the French capital and is clamouring for a return to his former side.

According to Spanish newspaper El Mundo, he has been in contact with senior figures at Barcelona in recent months.

Neymar is understood to have used his father to phone the club president Josep Maria Bartomeu, as well as other directors.

The player is believed to have apologised for the manner of his exit in 2017 while criticising the job Thomas Tuchel has done since taking over at PSG.

Pogba set for swap deal?

Juventus remain interested in re-signing Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba this summer.

A move away from Old Trafford appeared inevitable for the Frenchman following a series of bust-ups with former boss Jose Mourinho.

But Pogba’s fortunes have improved along with the rest of the United squad since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer came in, helping his side win five in a row.

It remains to be seen if he will stay with United beyond this season with Juventus and Barcelonaboth monitoring his situation.

Tuttosport reports United have offered Juve a deal which will see Douglas Costa move in the opposite direction.

Molde expect Solskjaer return

Molde fully expect Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to return to Norway in May.

Solskjaer has impressed since taking interim charge at Manchester United and led the Red Devils to five wins on the spin.

United’s upturn in fortunes have led to calls for Solskjaer to take the job on a full-time basis.

Molde allowed their boss to miss the start of the season to replace Jose Mourinho when he was sacked in December.

But they have no agreement with United past that and don’t see him staying on past the end of the Premier League season.

Chelsea watching Pereyra

Maurizio Sarri is keeping tabs on Roberto Pereyra, according to the Watford winger’s agent.

Argentinian Pereyra , 28, has been one of the Hornets standout players this season.

Sergio Furlan said: “2018 was the year of his take-off.

Ramsey ignored Bale’s advice

Gareth Bale attempted to lure Wales team-mate Aaron Ramsey to Real Madrid , it has been claimed.

The Arsenal midfielder is out of contract in the summer and looks set to join Juventus on a free transfer.

Ramsey joined Arsenal in 2008 and has featured 354 times for the north Londoners, winning three FA Cups.

The Gunners had been negotiating a new deal with the midfielder but discussions broke down over a stand off in pay.

Despite the 25-year-old playing 25 games under Unai Emery so far this season, the Spaniard seems content with letting him go.

Juventus are leading the chase for the midfielder with some reports suggesting a deal has already been struck.

Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain have also been linked with the midfielder, and according to BBC Sport so were Real Madrid.

It is understood Bale tried to persuade his Wales team-mate to join him in Spain. However, the midfielder appears to have opted for Italy instead.

Wigan Athletic are none-too-pleased to receive Sunderland’s offer for Will Grigg.

The Northern Ireland forward may be struggling for game-time at the moment and has not performed in the Championship as he did in League One but the Black Cats’ valuation has been dismissed out-of-hand.

The Wearsiders had hoped that a down-payment of £125,000 would have secured Grigg’s signature. The striker scored almost one goal every other game for the Latics last term – including the goal that knocked Manchester City out of the FA Cup.

And hoping they could snare a forward for that kind of cash up front has not gone down too well with the decision-makers at the DW Stadium.

Coutinho sent warning

Ernesto Valverde has told Philippe Coutinho he must fight for his Barcelona future.

The Brazilian was on target on Thursday night as Barca lost the first leg of their Copa del Rey last-16 clash with Levante.

It was the first time Coutinho had found the net since the Clasico victory over Real Madrid in October with the former Liverpool star continuing to struggle at the Nou Camp.

When Dembele wasn’t playing, everyone was asking me about him. Now Dembele is playing and Coutinho isn’t and the reverse is happening,” Valverde said.

When you do not play and you are not happy, you have to fight to change the situation. Today was a match for that.

Coutinho is a great player who has given us a lot and will give us a lot. I will say the same about Dembele. It’s a repetitive question with interchangeable names.

Dyche on goalkeeping situation

Sean Dyche has no plans to let any of his goalkeepers depart.

Tom Heaton has been recalled in recent weeks following a poor run of form from Joe Hart.

Preston were reportedly looking to loan Hart while Nick Pope has also been linked with a move.

If they said ‘look, gaffer’ (and gave) whatever reason, I’d listen to them. I trust them all. They are all old enough and wise enough now.

Popey is slightly younger (26), but he’s a mature lad, and obviously with Tom and Harty (32 and 31 respectively), they are older and wiser. They’d know. They’d know the time to come and say ‘look gaffer, where is this at’ sort of thing.

Barcelona offer cash and star player to Chelsea in exchange for Willian

Barcelona have offered Chelsea a player-plus-cash swap deal to secure the services of Willian .

Tarkowski staying put

Liverpool can forget about signing James Tarkowski.

Burnley manager Sean Dyche says his central defender will not be leaving for Anfield.

“The only country that asks a question like this is England. Everything is sorted with buying players,” he said.

“We have four centre-halves. Three, maybe, two-and-a-half are injured so we’ll have to try and come through in the moment.

“We need them back but you cannot buy a fifth centre-half and say so you play two weeks and after that the others come in. There are a lot of rumours out there, and not much fact.”

Jadon Sancho: I’m staying in Germany

Jadon Sancho has no plans to return to England any time soon.

The Borussia Dortmund star, 18, is thriving in the Bundesliga since leaving Manchester City in 2017.

When asked if he will stay in Germany, he said: “I will. I just want to play football.

“I’m happy right now — I’ve adapted really well. The language barrier worried me quite a lot. My German isn’t the best but I’m learning.

“When I first came, it was a bit difficult because I’m not around the corner from my house. But my family have helped me with that.”

Odion can still be box office

Odion Ighalo has put Premier League clubs on red alert by saying he wants to return to England.

That could interest Huddersfield and Southampton, who all want to add to their goals tally.

The former Watford striker, 29, left to join Changchun Yatai two years ago following a number of impressive seasons.

But he now wants to play in the Premier League again – even if clubs can’t match his salary.

Shinji still on Huddersfield’s radar

Huddersfield Town still maintain hopes of signing Shinji Okazaki – even if manager David Wagner won’t admit it!

The Terriers boss refuses to discuss transfer targets but the 32-year-old – out of contract at Leicester City in May – is one of a number of players they bottom club are considering bringing it.

“I don’t like to comment on any individual names,” he said. “Those players are not our players. Nothing significant is around the corner.

“We know how difficult it is. We have to find targets, then we have to convince the target. Then there is the club where the player is under contract, where we have to find solutions as well, and we know how difficult this is.

“I have hope, yes, but am I certain that something will happen? No, I’m not.”

David Luiz could go back to Benfica

David Luiz is ready to return to Portuguese giants Benfica – if he fails to land a new contract at Chelsea.

The Brazilian centre-back is a free agent in the summer and the Blues are yet to offer the 31-year-old an extension to stay at Stamford Bridge.

Reports in his homeland claim that Luiz is now in talks with Benfica, the Lisbon-based club he spent four years with before joining Chelsea for the first time in a £20million deal in 2011.

The Londoners then paid Paris St Germain £34million to re-sign the defender in 2016, two years after selling him to the French champions for £50million.

Palmeiras are interested in taking Luiz back to Brazil, with former Chelsea boss Luiz Felipe Scolari urging the club to do a deal.

But Luiz is believed to want to stay in Europe.

PSG warn: we’re ready to spend

Paris Saint-Germain are in the market for players – and they’re not likely to hang around.

The French champions have been linked with a £50 million move for Watford’s Abdoulaye Doucoure.

Head coach Thomas Tuchel was far from happy as his big-money side lost in the League Cup to bottom of the league Guingamp.

Tuchel said: “It wasn’t necessary to lose this game for us to know that we have needs in the transfer window and a victory would not have changed anything in that regard.”

Hornets come calling for Cornet

Watford are keen on Lyon winger Maxwel Cornet – but it will cost them.

French sources claim the Hornets are ‘in discussions’ over a £20 million deal.

Watford are looking to add players this window with Javi Garcia reported to be wanting no fewer than three new arrivals.

Abraham urged to earn Prem spot with Aston Villa

Aston Villa boss Dean Smith has told Tammy Abraham: Score another 10 goals for me this season and you’ll never have to play in the Championship again.

Smith has fronted up the on-loan Chelsea striker Abraham and asked if he wanted to move away, following the chance of a recall so he could be farmed out to Midlands neighbours Wolves in the top-flight.

He talked face-to-face with the 21-year-old England international to find out if he was still keen on a temporary switch to Molineux.

As far is Smith is concerned, Abraham should stay put – and score the goals to fire Villa back into the top-flight.

“Monday was an agreed day off for Tammy,” said Smith. “He came back in on Tuesday. I spoke to him then about his attitude, and it’s been spot-on since then.

“He’s been happy here. I asked if he was looking to go elsewhere and he reiterated he was happy to be at Villa , was enjoying playing here and enjoying scoring goals — and nothing more was really said to him. I’ve said right from the outset I couldn’t see him going anywhere, and I’d have been amazed if he had.”

Watford boss Gracia reveals transfer plans

Watford manager Javi Gracia will be ambitious with the players he has at his disposal after ruling out a move into the transfer market.

Fringe striker Stefano Okaka completed his temporary switch to Udinese earlier this week, while defender Marvin Zeegelaar has also joined the Serie A club.

There is also speculation surrounding the future of the in-form Abdoulaye Doucoure, but Gracia does not envisage any players arriving at Vicarage Road this month. “In this moment, maybe different things happen, but I am happy with the squad I have,” said Gracia.

“With the players we have we can complete a very good season and if in one week something changes, we will see.

“But at the moment I prefer to value the players I have because they deserve that. We have to be demanding with the players and we have to be ambitious with them, too.”

Mauro Icardi provides update on Inter Milan future

Mauro Icardi has rubbished rumours suggesting he will drop his current agent – who is also his WIFE.

The striker has been heavily linked with a move away from the Serie A club, with spouse Wanda Nara supervising his next move.

Clubs were put on red alert this week, when Nara stated that a deal on a renewed contract with Inter was still far away.

Nara also admitted that several clubs had already shown interest in the Argentinian, including from Spain and the Premier League .

Goal reported that following rumoured reports the striker could split from his wife and agent, Icardi said: “B******t. Where do these words come from?”

Trio of Premier League clubs chase Batshuayi

It’s not just Everton who want Michy Batshuayi…

Crystal Palace and Fulham have been put on alert after Batshuayi’s Valencia loan was cut short, writes Adrian Kajumba.

The Belgian international was on loan at Valencia for the season but their sporting director Mateu Alemany has confirmed he would be heading back to Chelsea after scoring just three goals in 23 appearances.

Batshuayi did impress on loan at Borussia Dortmund last season, though, and Palace are targeting him after scrapping a proposed for Dominic Solanke, who eventually joined Bournemouth, last week. Everton have been keen to add to their striking resources, with back up forwards Cenk Tosun and Oumar Niasse failing to make the grade this season under boss Marco Silva.

The Blues would be keen to do a loan deal for the forward, to allow them to take a look at him for the remainder of the season before commiting to a permanent transfer.

Claudio Ranieri is also keen to bolster his Fulham frontline and wants either Batshuayi or his Belgium teammate Divock Origi.

Motherwell boss wants more signings

Let’s keep the Scottish theme going…

Motherwell manager Stephen Robinson would still like more January signings after getting his top two targets but he will have to move people on before delving back into the transfer market.

The Steelmen signed forward Ross McCormack and winger Gboly Ariyibi on loan after Ryan Bowman and Andy Rose moved on, while wide player Jake Hastie has returned from a loan spell at Alloa. Robinson said on a club video interview: “Delighted I got the two targets I went for. Clubs like us don’t often get the quality of Ross McCormack and it shows the boy wants to come and play.

“We want to bring him back in and get his confidence back because his talent is unquestionable. We want to give him a platform to help us and help him. “I’d still like more, of course, in an ideal world, but we still need to move people out and maybe see what happens towards the end of the window.”

Aston Villa forward McCormack returned to Fir Park with a knee injury he picked up during a loan stint in Australia, but is steadily improving on the club’s Tenerife camp.

“Ross has started joining in with training,” said Robinson, whose name has appeared on bookmakers’ lists for the vacant Luton job.

“That was his first full day and he looked good. Fitness wise we still need to get there with him but there’s no denying the quality he has got and what he’ll bring to the squad. “Gboly is different to what we have, direct, gets at people, and it allows us to play a back four, a 4-3-3 maybe with Elliott (Frear) on the other side. “

“And young Jake Hastie has been a revelation in training, the loan to Alloa has been fantastic for him.”

Dundee complete another signing…

Dundee boss Jim McIntyre has continued his Ross County reunion at Dens Park after signing Andrew Davies.

The former Staggies skipper is the third of McIntyre’s former Dingwall players to join their old boss on Tayside after Martin Woods and Craig Curran.

The 34-year-old centre-half – who has signed an 18-month deal – was part of the County squad which won the 2015/16 League Cup but was then relegated from the Ladbrokes Premiership last term.

Davies started his career with then Premier League outfit Middlesbrough in 2002 before moving on to stints with Southampton, Stoke and Bradford and then going north to County in 2015.

He went to Hartlepool after the Highland outfit lost their battle for survival last season but has called time on his stint at Victoria Park after just 13 appearances.

Suarez worked under the Spaniard when he went on loan to Sevilla in the 2014/15 season. Together, the pair won the Europa League.

Everton have been keen to add to their striking resources, with back up forwards Cenk Tosun and Oumar Niasse failing to make the grade this season under boss Marco Silva.

Arnautovic rocks West Ham by demanding to quit club

West ham have been rocked by a bombshell confirmation from Marko Arnautovic that he wants to quit the club.

The Irons have blocked a £35million bid from Chinese club Shanghai SiPG but Arnautovic wants to go with a lucrative £200,000-a-week deal on the table.

The Austrian’s brother and representative Daniel told talkSPORT: “ West Ham bought Marko for peanuts. They paid £20m for him, which is nothing in the current market.

“They bought him to keep them in the Premier League last season and he did that. He took every award at the club; best player, signing of the season and the players’ award.

“Now West Ham have a fantastic offer. It is close to double what they paid for him.

“He wants to go to a new market and challenge for titles. This is what he wants.”

Chelsea pursuit of Hazard

Chelsea have rejected the opportunity to re-sign Eden Hazard’s brother, Thorgan – who is now set to replace Christian Pulisic at Borussia Dortmund.

BVB have made a €42million offer to Borussia Monchengladbach to sign the Belgian international.

Chelsea had the opportunity to match Dortmund’s offer due to an option in their sale of Hazard to Gladbach.

But they have elected against bringing him back to Stamford Bridge, with Hazard set to head to the Westfalenstadion in the summer.

EXCLUSIVE: United face Bohui battle

Manchester United are in danger of losing teenager Josh Bohui who is regarded as one of their best young prospects.

Barcelona and Monaco have already shown interest in 19-year-old forward Bohui whose current contract expires this summer.

Bohui has been dubbed the new Andy Cole because he has been a prolific goalscorer while he can play wide in attack and was one of few youngsters to be taken on last summer’s pre-season tour to the USA by former boss Jose Mourinho.

United offered Bohui a new four year contract last April which was turned down before a fresh offer was made a month later and believe this would entitle them to compensation if the stand-off cannot be resolved.

Latest on Isco

The misplaced Twitter like is one of the staples of the transfer window.

And Real Madrid midfielder Isco looks to be the latest star whose social media activity has sparked rumours.

The Spain international was left out of the starting lineup for Real’s 3-0 Copa Del Rey victory over Leganes at the Bernabeu on Wednesday, and it seems as though that didn’t go down very well.

Spanish publication AS were quick to spot that the 26-year-old – who has made just two starts since Real boss Santiago Solari took over in October – liked a tweet from supporter “@iepanto’ criticising the decision to leave out the former Malaga man.

Translated, the tweet read: “He [Solari] has picked Dani Ceballos and a Casemiro who’s in bad shape, and even though he retired 20 years ago he’d pick himself before Francisco Alarcon Isco.”

Isco swiftly removed the like, but not before eagle-eyed fans were able to take a screengrab of it showing up on his Twitter page.

Changes at Dundee United

All change behind the scenes at Dundee United.

Here’s what the club have said:

“Dundee United is pleased to announce the appointment of Malachy Brannigan as the Club’s new Managing Director and Tony Asghar as its first Sporting Director.

“The appointments, in place from Monday 14 January 2019, are the first changes in infrastructure following the recent purchase of the Club by Mark Ogren.”

Dyche on Tarkowski future

Burnley boss Sean Dyche has dismissed talk of James Tarkowski moving on.

The defender has been linked with Liverpool in recent days.

We have four centre-halves. Three, maybe, two-and-a-half are injured so we’ll have to try and come through in the moment.

We need them back but you cannot buy a fifth centre-half and say so you play two weeks and after that the others come in.

There are a lot of rumours out there, and not much fact.

The most amazing one is the Tarky one. That is just bizarre. It’s that time of the season, and everyone is looking for a snippet, but there is a lot of phantom stuff out there.

Hammers consider Wilson

West Ham could move for Callum Wilson if they are forced to let Marko Arnautovic go.

The Hammers have told Arnautovic he is going nowhere this month after rejecting a £35m offer from China.

But the Austrian remains a wanted man and interest in him could be revived in the summer.

Bournemouth striker Wilson is a target if Arnautovic ends up departing, reports the Mail.

Wilson set to stay

Derby boss Frank Lampard hopes Harry Wilson will see out the season at Pride Park.

The Welshman has impressed on loan at Derby from Liverpool.

There had been talk he would be recalled but Lampard hasn’t heard anything on the matter.

I have heard nothing from Liverpool, which is good news – no news is good news.

I hope he stays with us because I think it has been good for all parties, so far.

In terms of his individual performance, 10 goals is a great return, and his spectacular goals have been great on the eye but my biggest pleasure is seeing his performances in the past month.

His all-round game, the energy, the personality to receive the ball and be pivotal in the game has gone up a notch, and I think there are more notches to go.

Why Leeds won’t panic

Marcelo Bielsa insists he will not panic buy to solve his selection problems and put Leeds United’s “In the next few weeks, we will have Dallas, Berardi, Phillips, Brown, Bamford and Douglas with us, so among the absences, we will have a reduction.

Bielsa could be without seven players for Friday’s clash with Derby County at Elland Road because of injury and suspension as the Championship leaders bid to end their three-match losing run.

But the Leeds boss insists he will not be asking chairman Andrea Radrizzani to get out his chequebook because he believes he can work with the players he already has.

Leeds are looking for a goalkeeper and replacement for Samuel Saiz this month and Bielsa insists quality is more important than quantity.

If the club can bring in players, it will be only if they are better than the players that we have.

In the next few weeks, we will have Dallas, Berardi, Phillips, Brown, Bamford and Douglas with us, so among the absences, we will have a reduction.

That’s why I clearly say that if nobody comes, we will solve the problems anyway.

Coutinho to be sold?

Barcelona are considering selling Philippe Coutinho in order to fund a move for Neymar, according to the Evening Standard .

They report that the former Liverpool star – who has been linked with a shock switch to Manchester United – is edging closer to a sensational Catalonia exit just a year after joining the club from the Reds.

Coutinho has started only one of Barca’s last five matches, and his form is a far cry from his displays after joining the club in the middle of last season.

He scored 10 goals in 22 games back then, but his influence on the team has started to wane following the resurgence from Ousmane Dembele and form of midfielders Ivan Rakitic and Arthur.

Skriniar speaks out

Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar is a name you might have seen going round the transfer rumour mill this month.

The 23-year-old Slovakia international has established himself as one of the best defenders in Serie A over the past couple of seasons, while he’s also become his country’s premier centre-back, taking over from the former Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel.

That has led to a variety of different transfer rumours linking him with the likes of Manchester United , Bayern Munich and Barcelona , but judging by his latest Instagram Story he’s very much committed to Inter.

Morata transfer from Chelsea would be “a blessing” says Sevilla chief

Sevilla boss Pablo Machin has insisted it would be “a blessing” if the Spanish club land Alvaro Morata.

The £58million Chelsea marksman, who last scored in the Premier League on November 4, wants out of Stamford Bridge after losing the confidence of boss Maurizio Sarri and the board.

Chelsea want to replace Morata with Gonzalo Higuain, reuniting the former Napoli striker – who carried all before him at the Italian club – with Sarri. They are also still keen on Bournemouth and England hitman Callum Wilson.

Hudson-Odoi transfer saga may spark contract mutiny

Bayern Munich insist they “absolutely” want £35million Callum Hudson-Odoi, with the teenager’s impending exit sparking concern in Chelsea’s academy.

Mirror Sport understands there is growing discontent within the Blues’ youth ranks with several parents concerned about the message Hudson-Odoi’s potential sale sends out to their kids.

A number of families back the 18-year-old’s insistence that he wants out and are themselves considering stalling on long-term contracts that could lock their youngsters into situations they too feel frustrated with.

Confirming Bayern’s pursuit of Hudson-Odoi, sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic said: “He’s a very interesting player whom we absolutely want to sign. He has qualities that fit our game. His drilbbling, he’s fast and has a good move to goal.”

But defender Marcos Alonso, who started with Hudson-Odoi in Tuesday night’s first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final, said: “We are Chelsea — one of the great teams. The Premier League is I think the most competitive league in the world, so I don’t see why someone would go to Bayern.

“Callum is a good player but he’s very young. He needs to have patience, to be hungry, and fight for a place in this team. That’s what he needs to do.”

Chelsea are also insistent that the pathway to the first team remains open for the players from their academy.

Chelsea odds on to snap up Higuain – with Morata to leave

Chelsea are odds on to snap up a new striker.

Gonzalo Higuain is now just 2/9 with Betway to join the in the January transfer window.

The Blues, short of goals in recent weeks, are on the hunt for a striker and it appears they have turned their attentions to the experienced striker, with a link-up with former boss Maurizio Sarri now odds-on to happen this month.

Meanwhile, Alvaro Morata looks to be heading the other way, with a move to Sevilla fancied at 5/6, while he’s even-money to remain in the capital.

Betway’s Alan Alger said: “Gonzalo Higuain was at his most prolific when he played for Napoli and a reunion with Maurizio Sarri at Chelsea looks a real possibility at just 2/9.

“Securing this deal would surely signal the end of Alvaro Morata’s time at Stamford Bridge and a move back to Spain appears close, with Sevilla the favourites at 5/6.”

Huge Arnautovic bid to be rejected

West Ham are poised to reject a £35 million bid from China for key striker Marko Arnautovic, writes Tony Banks.

The bid, from an as yet unnamed Chinese Super League Club, was submitted on Wednesday for the 29 year old Austrian, who is joint-top scorer for the Hammers this season with eight goals in 17 games in all competitions.

Arnaurovic moved to London Stadium for a club record £20m fee from Stoke in July 2017, scoring 11 times for West Ham last season.

The Hammers have no intention of selling Arnautovic, whose contract has another four years to run.

The club, sources say, value Arnautovic at far higher than £35m – having themselves spent £40m this summer on Brazilian midfielder Felipe Anderson.

Arnautovic opened the scoring in West Ham’s 2-0 FA Cup third-round win over Birmingham on Saturday but reacted angrily when he was substituted in the 20th minute, with manager Manuel Pellegrini stating the forward had “felt some pain in his back”.

The Austrian missed four Premier League games in December with a hamstring injury but is now fit and has netted three goals in as many games, having scored two in the 2-2 Premier League draw at home to Brighton on January 2.

Chelsea given hope of £100m Mauro Icardi deal by wife Wanda Nara

Mauro Icardi has given hope to suitors Chelsea, Barcelona and Real Madrid with the news he’s ‘far away’ from a new deal at Inter Milan.

The Argentine striker’s wife and agent Wanda Nara made the claims as speculation about a move to London intensifies.

Head coach Maurizio Sarri wants a new striker, with Alvaro Morata having failed to impress.

And Roman Abramhovich is said to want to splash the cash on big name Icardi – who has a £100m release fee.

The Italian side are offering their captain improved terms as they are desperate to replace the current buy-out clause.

Icardi last signed an extension in 2016, and a clause detailed that he can leave San Siro to a club outside Italy for £100million.

And his wife – and agent – Wanda said of the negotiations: “The renewal of Icardi with Inter is very far away today.

Wanda is well known in her native Argentina as a TV personality as well as appearing on sports shows in Italy.

She added: “We are far from reaching an agreement, we have not yet received a satisfactory proposal from Inter.

“I do not deny that on any moment we can reach an agreement, but today we are very far”.

Fiorentina playing hardball over Man Utd target Milenkovic

Manchester United have been told to forget about signing Fiorentina’s Nikola Milenkovic this month.

The Red Devils planned a raid on the Serie A side for £50million-rated defender Milenkovic and were hoping to tempt them into doing business by offering midfielder Andreas Pereira in a player-plus-cash deal.

But the Italians shut the door on their hopes of landing the Serbia international — at least until the summer.

A Fiorentina source said: ”Nikola won’t move in January. He will see the season out at the Artemio Franchi [Fiorentina’s stadium] and then, if he does leave, he is likely to command a very high fee of around £50m.”

Man Utd fans ‘furious with transfer policy’

Manchester United fans are apparently angry at the club’s transfer policy – and they’re making themselves heard on social media.

The Red Devils are yet to sign anyone in the January window, despite being linked with a number of players – especially at centre-back.

Kostas Manolas and Milan Skriniar are just two of the many players who could be in Manchester United red come the start of February, although the club will have to spend more than a few quid to get a deal for either of them done.

Getting priced out of transfers is something United have had to suffer all too regularly recently, as Jose Mourinho endured the same problems when he was in charge at the start of the season.

In the summer the Red Devils were keen on signing the likes of Harry Maguire and Toby Alderweireld, but saw negotiations move past the £70million mark, resulting in United standing down.

Supporters of the Old Trafford club expect this kind of reaction from other sides, as everyone knows the Red Devils have money to spend.

But what fans can’t understand is why the likes of Bayern Munich – another huge team with a fat wallet – are able to bypass this problem.

Barcelona president makes Denis Suarez promise

The Barcelona president has personally got involved in the Denis Suarez to Arsenal transfer saga, according to reports from Spain.

The Spanish midfielder is the Gunners’ number one transfer target this month, and the 25-year-old is also keen on a move to the Premier League.

There are some slight issues that need to get ironed out before Suarez will put pen to paper with Arsenal, including the type of deal the Spaniard will complete.

As things stand Arsenal want to sign the midfielder on loan until the end of the season, where they will then decide whether he is worth splashing the cash on.

Barcelona on the other hand will reportedly only sanction a loan deal for the player this month if it includes a clause to make the move permanent at the end of the season.

Unai Emery ‘gives green light’ to sign Yannick Carrasco

Unai Emery has given Arsenal the green light to sign Yannick Carrasco this month, it has been claimed.

The Belgian winger, formally of Atletico Madrid, has been heavily linked with the Gunners over the past few weeks.

The 25-year-old has been playing in the Chinese Super League since 2015, but could now be set for a sensational return to Europe.

According to Foot Mercato, Emery is a big fan of the winger and has given his permission for Arsenalto launch a bid for the Belgium ace.

However, the French publication adds that Arsenal will have their work cut out as Dalian Yifang are unwilling to part with the man who has scored seven goals in 26 appearances this season.

De Ligt provides big transfer update

Arsenal and Manchester United target Matthijs de Ligt has revealed he will not be leaving Ajax in January.

The defender, 19, has attracted plenty of attention with his form this season – including the the Gunners who are on the look out for a centre-back.

In 2018, he joined the likes of Kylian Mbappe, Anthony Martial and Paul Pogba on the list of names who have won Golden Boy award.

However, if Arsenal want to get their hands on the Dutch star they will have to wait.

“A move will not be happening this transfer window,” he told NOS.

“Ajax fans will not have to worry about that.”

Philippe Coutinho to Manchester United latest

The Barcelona midfielder was rather sensationally linked with a move to Manchester United at the start of January.

The transfer seems ridiculous in that he’d cost a bomb, he’s at Barcelona and he used to play for the Red Devils’ bitter rivals Liverpool.

Of course, Coutinho hasn’t quite settled in at the Nou Camp as he’d hoped, but everything suggests this transfer won’t happen. The Barcelona midfielder was rather sensationally linked with a move to Manchester United at the start of January.

Of course, Coutinho hasn’t quite settled in at the Nou Camp as he’d hoped, but everything suggests this transfer won’t happen.

However, odds on the Brazilian making a move to Manchester United have suddenly – and quite dramatically – been slashed.

Oddschecker spokesperson George Elek even told The Sun: “Not many players have featured for Liverpool and Manchester United.

“If Coutinho did make the switch, he would follow in the footsteps of Michael Owen and Paul Ince to appear on both sides of the divide.

“With the multitude of bets placed on the move, this is definitely one to watch out for throughout the transfer window.”

Red Devils ‘make £54million bid for Milan Skriniar’

Manchester United have made a £54million bid for Inter Milan centre-back Milan Skriniar, according to reports from Italy.

The Red Devils are in the market for a new centre-back and have been linked with a number of defenders, including Roma’s Kostas Manolas.

The Greek is available for £30million, and Manchester United are apparently keen, but according to TuttoMercatoWeb they have now turned their attention elsewhere.

Skriniar, 23, is highly-rated, and it is believed Inter Milan would be prepared to part company with the defender should they receive a good price for him.

Manchester United allegedly feel £54million is enough to get the deal done.

Livingston go Wylde for ex-Rangers man

Livingston have signed of former Rangers wide-man Gregg Wylde on an 18-month deal.

The 27-year-old was released by Plymouth earlier this week but has wasted little time securing his return to Scotland. Wylde kicked off his career at Ibrox and has since gone on to have spells at Bolton, Aberdeen and St Mirren as well as two stints with the Pilgrims.

He has already joined Gary Holt’s squad on their winter break in Portugal and the Lions boss told his club’s website: “Davie Martindale and I have been working hard to get Gregg in and I’m delighted we have managed to so. “Gregg is a great addition to our squad and will give us options going forward.

“We think we can get him playing consistently at a good level week in, week out. He has a great left foot and will bring a lot of experience to the squad and can play a few positions. “Gregg will no doubt enhance our squad and help us all kick on for our push to finish as high as possible in the Ladbrokes Premiership.”
