Fernandes is set to undertake his medical today.
The Portuguese midfielder flew into the UK on Wednesday to agree personal terms and is set to ink a long-term contract at Old Trafford.
His arrival went some way with United fans to overshadow the aggregate loss to Manchester City in the Carabao Cup semi-final later in the day.
Fans had been begging the club to stump up the cash for the Sporting Lisbon midfielder throughout the window, with the team crying out for reinforcements.
Bruno Fernandes joined Manchester United on Wednesday
Now, they have got their wish, as Express Sport understands Fernandes will sign a five-and-a-half year deal today.
He could make his debut on Saturday against Wolves, as United look to turn around their fortunes following a bleak spell.
He is set to be joined before too long by French star Pogba, who has barely played this season through injury.
Boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said earlier this week that the midfielder is itching to return, and is edging closer.
But Chelsea icon Craig Burley has warned that if the 26-year-old doesn’t come out firing on all cylinders, life could be difficult for Fernandes.
He explained on ESPN FC that the Frenchman has the ability to make the difference for United along with Fernandes, while praising the signing of the Portuguese ace.
“Paul Pogba can shift this United team when fit,” Burley said.
“I know he’s had a lot of criticism, and he’s not fit at the moment, but when he’s fit and flying – if he hasn’t got the drive and talent to push them forward, it’ll be a struggle for Bruno Fernandes as well.
