Lt. Gen. Jim Besigye Owoyesigire of the Uganda People’s Defence Forces has come out to term Kyandodo East member of parliament Robert Sentamu Kyagulanyi as a disorganized person.
General Jim is a former Force Commander of African Union Mission in Somalia [AMISOM].He further adds that the youth rushing to join the people power movement is a waste of time.
Gen. Owoyesigire was on Sunday speaking at the requiem service of the Chairman of Basigi Clan in Uganda, Lauben Jack Karamagi at Kagarama Church of Uganda in Bubaare sub county Rubanda district.
“He has no vision and can’t by any way remove president Museveni from power”. Lt.Gen Jim said.
Karamagi died on Friday morning at Kigezi Healthcare Foundation (KIHEFO) Anguyu clinic in Kabale Municipality after heart failure.
“President Museveni and NRM are organized and are not ready to hand over power to disorganized people”.- the general further adds .
The General described the deceased Karamagi as a hardworking and loving educationist who never even went to school but was able to do research on his clan as well as the Bakiga community.
In 2012, Gen Owoyesigire, then Airforce commanding officer and his Chief of Staff, Brig. Moses Rwakitarate, were sacked during an inquiry into the military helicopters’ disaster in which seven servicemen died.
The investigation into the multiple crashes on Mount Kenya was done by Museveni’s brother Gen. Salim Saleh.
The three ill-fated MI-24 attack helicopters that were bound for Mogadishu in August to be used in war against Somali insurgents crashed on Mount Kenya under unclear circumstances.
Lt. Gen. Owoyesigire was then replaced by his deputy, Brig. Sam Turyagyenda, while Brig. Rwakitarate was replaced by Lt. Col. Charles Lutaya, who was promoted to full colonel.
