President Yoweri Museveni in his previous letter on public assemblies faulted Uganda Police Force for breaking the car window of Kyadondo East MP, Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine while arresting him as he attempted to access One Love Beach Busabala.
On April 22, 2019, Police blocked Bobi Wine from accessing the beach where he planned to hold a press conference to condemn police brutality.
Bobi Wine’s supporters were dispersed by teargas while others were arrested.
Police later forcefully broke into his Land Cruiser to arrest him.
They used shield guards to block journalists’ cameras from filming the break-in.
The Uganda Police Force through it’s spokesperson Fred Enaga has said that the force will punish the officers who took part in demolishing Bobi Wine’s car window during the scuffle to arrest him on Easter Monday.
CP Fred Enanga in a press briefing held at police headquarters in Naguru was responding to the disapproved methods used to arrest and manhandle Bobi wine as mentioned by Museveni in his previous letter on public assemblies.
“Our legal department and professional stands unit are reviewing the actions of those officers and soon were going to summon them for disciplinary action,” he said.***Reader Notice***: If you are facing scrolling difficulties please kindly clear your cookies and cache for this website
